Wisconsin Legislative History: LRB Materials

In addition to drafting records, the Legislative Reference Bureau produces documents including among others:

• Budget Briefs (2-page summaries of selected items in executive budgets)
• Budget Index (Comprehensive guide to identify and locate bill sections in the budget)
• Constitutional Highlights (Summaries of constitutional issues of interest to lawmakers)
• Informational Memoranda and Informational Bulletins (Occasional, brief publications on miscellaneous topics, and summary discussions of various legal issues),
• Legislative Briefs (2-page summaries on selected items that are not budget issues)
• Legislative Reports and LRB Reports
• Research Bulletins (In-depth treatment of issues – includes summaries of the legislative sessions 1995-)
• Wisconsin Briefs (Concise information about the state government and public issues)
• Tap the Power (Annotated Bibliographies on selected topics.)[1]

These documents may provide some background information that can be helpful for researching various topics.  The legislative briefs can be particularly helpful as they may relate to popular issues.
