Welcome to Marquette University Ray and Kay Eckstein Law Library. The Law Library supports the teaching, research, and scholarship interests of the students and faculty of Marquette University Law School and is fully intergrated into Eckstein Hall on all four floors.
Eckstein Law Library is also open to the public for purposes of conducting legal research. Public patrons are asked to adhere to Eckstein Hall’s visitor policy.
Please note: Access to Eckstein Hall's 3rd and 4th floors is restricted to the law school community during the summer, and after 4:00 pm during the week and all day on Saturday and Sunday during the school year. To access the library collections on these floors, please see a reference librarian.
Law Library Hours
Library Service Hours vary from Eckstein Hall Building Hours. If you require help from the reference librarians or the library staff at the circulation desk, please plan your visit during our service hours.
Computer Use
Computer equipment in the Law Library supports the research, learning and teaching activities of the law faculty and students. Registered guests may use the computer equipment for legal research but may be required to yield access to Marquette users when the Law Library is busy.
Acceptable Computer Use
Use of the Library's computers and electronic resources by registered guests is a privilege extended by the Law Library and can be revoked. Marquette University's Acceptable Use Policy applies to registered guests as well as all University faculty, staff, and students.
Cell Phone Use
Cell phones may be used in the Law Library but must be silenced upon entering. If a telephone conversation must take place, please step away from the library stacks and study tables.
Printing
Self-service print/copy/scan machines are located on each floor near the Law Library stacks. Visit our print page for fees and copy card information.
Note Taking
WordPad, a text-editing program, is available on the reference computers to create and edit documents. Personal USB flash drives may be used at these computers. Dropbox and Evernote may also be used for note taking and cloud storage of documents by individuals who have already established a personal account.
