Jury instructions are directions from the judge to the jury regarding the applicable law specific to the case being tried. They serve as a guide to assist the jurors in understanding the legal and factual issues and in reaching a verdict.
Four-volume set. Copies of the current edition of the Criminal Jury Instructions are available in the Ready Reference and Reserve sections of the Law Library. The current edition is also available on a CD in the Reserve section of the Law Library. The archives hold the instructions for 1962-76 as well as replaced pages for 1997 - .
The criminal set includes an index, table of contents and comparative table of statute and instruction numbers.
