The International Military Tribunal for the Far East received it's authority after the development of the International Military Tribunal (The Nuremberg Trials). While the IMT received its authority by international treaty, the IMTFE was created by General Douglas MacArthur. Much has been written comparing and expounding on the two collectively. In addition, much has been written with citation to the IMT and the IMTFE in relation to both the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia at the Hague and Rwanda trials / tribunals. In addition, much has been written on Japanese atrocities, especially the exploitation of "Comfort Women".
In developing this short list of articles, it is my intention to provide those articles which seem to directly deal with issues from the IMTFE. It is very difficult, in some cases, to simply ignore the impact of the IMTFE on other areas, and so some other articles have also been included.
